The McDonalds of English teaching in Mexico. This institute has more than 100 locations throughout the country. Experience is NOT required, although a month or more long training and internship is. Pay is usually moderate, depending on background and experience, and is easily supplementable. If you want to get around Mexico, or dont have a TEFL certificate or experience, this may well be the place for you. Be forewarned though, Acapulco is a VERY popular location with their teachers (Gosh, I wonder why?) so openings might not be that frequent. Stop in and ask anyway, you never know.

INGLES INDIVIDUAL

Part of a nation-wide chain of English schools that has its OWN TV channel on SKY (#818) and sponsors intensive English courses in Houston. Small groups are the norm with flexible hours offered to students. Most locations tend to be fairly small, depending on the quantity of students. It can be good however, for a class or two to supplement your schedule somewhere else or boost your income from a number of private students or classes. Check out their website to get more information before you go.

CETEC Plus (Computers and English)
Address: Av. Cuavittemoc No. 39 (between IMSS and CFE)

Phone: 483 8536

Address: Hidalgo No. 2
Col. Centro (on one side of the cathedral)
Phone: 480-0350
Address: Blvd. Jose Lopez Portillo
Loc. 4 Fracc. Libertadores
Phone: 442-2332 (Ciudad Renacimiento)

CETEC is springing offices up in almost every Mexican town that more than a crossroads. With the push for Spanish English bilingualism and computer literacy, theyre doing a booming business in many medium to small sized towns. They dont purport native speakers simply because there arent nearly enough native speakers to staff their numerous locations. If you show up and can talk a little turkey, youll almost certainly get a position. The pay here can be on the low side though since the students, though numerous, dont pay really hefty fees to attend. Its a good jumping off point for some private classes and that should be a consideration. As always, check around before committing to a position or positions to get the best salary and conditions you can. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT accept the first position or two that you are offered. Check around, shop around for a few days first! I mean it!

Instituto de Computation e Ingles Y Secundaria Computarizada TITANIC
Address: Av. Cuauhtemoc No. 100
(in front of the centro medico, on one side of the Cine Variedades)
Telefax: 482 9790

Another school similar to CETEC that offers English and computer courses. They feature computer courses more heavily since getting qualified English teachers is such a dogfight. (Hint! Hint!) Go in and talk to them to see what you can dig up. Courses can start monthly, and if youre committed to a stay of fair length (3 months to six months minimum more is better), you should be able to manage a reasonably good deal either here or elsewhere.
