Always a big player on the language-learning scene, Berlitz has 10 branches in Mexico City and an additional 11 locations elsewhere in Mexico. Their classes feature conversation skills and their students clamor for native speakers. Most sessions are held early mornings and late afternoons / evenings to accommodate a working clientele. Pay is commensurate with experience and abilities but is typically on the higher end of the scale as are some of their requirements; however they say they can be flexible in some areas. Negotiate with them directly when you arrive for the best opportunities.
BERLITZ is looking for English Teachers. Requirements: complete command of the English language, previous experience or strong aptitude for TEFL teaching, friendly/sociable personality. They offer: competitive compensation, continuous training and development, challenging and enjoyable working environment, opportunities in 11 locations mainly in Bosques de las Lomas, Polanco, Lindavista, Villa Coapa and downtown areas. This business institute has 10 locations in the Mexico City area and will guide you to the nearest locations when you call. They are well-located and usually quite busy except for major festivals and holidays when things slow down a bit, but not for long since being fluent in English is a more important qualification for advancement in most professions than having an advanced degree. They can be contacted by e-mail even before you leave the U.S. to explore some possibilities.
